Junction City has been Karen's home community all of her life; she grew up in Alida, which was a small community that sat where Milford Lake is now. Karen is a Chapman High School Graduate, class of 1970. She attended the Patricia Stevens Career College and Finishing School in 1971. In 1977 she married John Jameson. They live just outside of Junction City where they built their home in 1992.
Karen worked for Sprint United Telephone located in Junction City from 1989 to 1999. She accepted a management position with Sprint in Kansas City at their corporate headquarters where she remained until August 2003 when she started her career with State Farm as an independent contract agent. Karen opened her own business with State Farm and in 2010, she built her own office which is located at 206 E Ash.
Karen has worked with United Way of Junction City-Geary County both as a board member and as a volunteer. She has served on several allocation panels and was also a panel chair. Not only has she been active in United Way, she has been active in Geary County—her volunteer work includes working with the: Sertoma Club, Pilot Club, Jammin in JC, and as a member of the Junction City Chamber of Commerce. Karen leads our United Way by sharing her vast knowledge of the community and her dedication to those within our community.
