Scouting is a comprehensive, age-appropriate, youth development program with 27 separate grass-roots groups in Geary County. During this past year, Scouting served 528 youth in Geary County thanks to the 200 caring adult role models who help organize weekly activities for the local youth. Scouting is based on six tenets including mentoring, healthy living, life- long learning, character development, service to others and faith traditions. Geary County is one of the 32 counties served by the Coronado Area Council headquartered in Salina, Kansas.
